Introduction to Gambody Marketplace for Artists
Before you become an author on Gambody Marketplace, there are a few things you need to know. Please read this article to make sure you have a thorough understanding of the authoring process.
How Gambody Marketplace Works
Note: Transactions are made between you and the purchaser. This has the legal implication that if you violate the law, e.g. breach copyright, you are responsible and liable. The consequences of any unlawful action can be harsh, so please keep it in mind.
How does Authoring work?
As an artist, you upload files. Please don’t forget to prepare your files in accordance with the upload instructions. Once uploaded, your item will be inspected by our review team to make sure it is well made and suitable for the Marketplace. If the reviewer approves your item, your item will appear for sale.
If the item is rejected, the reviewer will provide an explanation concerning the improvements need to be made or reasons why the item is inappropriate for sale.
How Do Artists Make Money?
You will receive a percentage from every sale you make. If you sell items exclusively at MiH Marketplace, the amount you earn starts at 50% and rises incrementally to 80% as you make more sales. If you sell the same items not only at MiH Marketplace, you are a non-exclusive author and will receive 33% from each sale. You can find more details about it on the Payment Rates page.
How is Payment Made?
When you sell an item, earnings are deposited to your account balance. Your earnings can be used in one of the following ways:
· To purchase files at GambodyMarketplace.
· Once your balance reaches $100, you can request a payout to a PayPal account specified in your Account page.
· All payment requests are processed at the beginning of a new month and are paid out on the 15th of that month. For example, if you request a payout on the 20th of March, payment will be made on the 15th of April. If the 15th of the month falls on a weekend or UK public holiday, payment will be made the next business day.
Technical Requirements
To be accepted at MiH Marketplace an item needs to meet the upload instruction requirements and our quality standards. Refer to the Upload Instruction section of the Support Center for guidelines on how to prepare and upload your files.
Quality Requirements
During the inspection of your items, review staff will consider the following criteria:
-
How useful the item is.
-
Whether the item contains any potentially offensive content (E.g. Violence, sexual content, offensive language content).
-
The aesthetic value of the item.
-
The standard of the item's construction.
-
The item's level of printability.
Other Reasons Items Might Not Be Approved
There are some more reasons items can be rejected. These reasons include:
-
If similar items are already in the library. Please submit a resembling item only if it is exceptionally well done or provides a unique take on a familiar item.
-
If files are corrupted or we suspect they carry a virus.
-
If an item is difficult to use or implement.
-
If an item does not meet marketplace quality or aesthetic standards.
Pricing
We support the rules of fair trade, where everyone has a right to evaluate his work himself and charge for it as much as he wants. This creates true market competition among designers and their stores that are ready to compete for improving quality and providing an advantageous price to increase their sales.
This is why all designers are allowed to charge the price themselves as well as set the amount of discount.
Tip: Before setting a price for your work, have a look at our platform and check the prices for the similar items so as not to charge too high price, which might cause low sales.
